And the glove, by the inch.
Two measurements decide a FootJoy glove: the length of your middle finger, and the circumference of your lead hand around the first knuckles, thumb excluded. FootJoy reckons upwards of half of golfers wear the wrong glove size, most of them too big.
- I.Print FootJoy’s letter-size measuring gauge with its finger guide and cut-out ruler.
- II. If your finger-length number is less than your palm-width number, try a Cadet glove: wider palm, shorter fingers.
- III. Between sizes, try the smaller first. A correct closure tab reaches only about 75 percent of the way across the back of the hand.
